The 991.2 GT2 RS is the most uncompromising road car Porsche has ever placed its name on. This example is finished in Paint to Sample Azzurro Thetys Metallic, a color that brings a singular elegance to the GT2 RS’s aggressive bodywork, placing it among the most visually distinctive examples of the model in existence. Featuring the optional but iconic Weissach Package, the lightweight additions enhance the car’s presence with a carbon fibre hood, roof, and anti-roll bars alongside magnesium wheels with paint-matched Azzurro Thetys Metallic outer rims. Carbon continues across the rear wing, rear deck lid, ram-air intakes, wheel arch vents, and side air intakes. The Porsche also features a front end PPF.
The interior is equally considered. The illuminated door sills bear the car’s Nürburgring lap time of 6:47.3; a detail as evocative as it is fitting. Black leather and Alcantara run throughout, with Platinum Grey deviated stitching on the steering wheel, seats, dashboard, door cards, and further interior elements. The headrest logos are embroidered in both Platinum Grey and Yellow, with the latter carried through to the steering wheel’s 12 o’clock mark and the lightweight door handles. Azzurro Thetys appears on the air vent slats and key fob, threading the exterior color into the cabin. The Weissach Package extends its reach inside with carbon fibre panels across the seats, doors, dashboard, centre console, and steering wheel surround. Black dials feature on the gauges and Sport Chrono clock with Lap Trigger preparation. Further options include the front axle lift system, Light Design Package, and BOSE Surround Sound System.
Unveiled in 2017, the GT2 RS produces 700 horsepower from a 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged flat-six, delivered exclusively to the rear wheels through a seven-speed PDK, reaching 60mph in 2.8 seconds with a 211 mph top speed. When it set the Nürburgring production car lap record at 6 minutes 47.3 seconds, it did so as the definitive statement of what the 911 platform is capable of at its outer limit. The cars components represent the pinacle of engineering from Porsche’s Weissach development centre and represent why this car is different from everything else that wears the 911 badge.
