I am selling my well-maintained 2004 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S from the 996.2 series, equipped with a classic 6-speed manual transmission.
For me, the Carrera 4S is one of the most attractive variants of the 996 series. The wide body of the 996 Turbo, the continuous red light strip at the rear, and the 3.6-liter naturally aspirated engine combine the distinctive look of the Turbo with the classic character of a Carrera.
Engine & Technology
A special feature of the vehicle is the replacement engine, which was installed at 9ff about ten years ago. Since the engine replacement, the car has covered only about 20,000 km over the past 10 years.
The vehicle’s total mileage is approximately 185,000 km. Of this, about 160,000 km were driven in the first 10 years, making it a true long-distance car—a fact evident in the condition of the body and clutch. A major service was performed in February 2026. As part of this, the brake rotors and brake pads on the front axle were replaced, among other things.
The vehicle comes with a service history booklet and has been well-maintained and serviced regularly. Many parts, such as the shock absorbers and radiator, have been replaced over time. Everything is in working order.
Features
The Carrera 4S features, among other things:
• 6-speed manual transmission
• black leather interior
• Power sunroof
• Xenon headlights
• white speedometer dials
• Flap exhaust
• Original Porsche Carrera 4S aluminum wheels
• Modern infotainment system with Apple CarPlay
• Very well-maintained black interior with silver accents
Condition & History
The Porsche is in good condition and is driven regularly.
Thanks to the replacement engine, which has only covered about 20,000 km, and the recent maintenance work, the vehicle offers an interesting combination in my view: You get a genuine 996 Carrera 4S with a Manual transmission, yet because of its total mileage, you can drive and enjoy it without the typical worry about every additional kilometer that comes with collector’s cars that have been driven very little.
The car drives beautifully and delivers exactly the direct, analog 911 driving experience for which the 996 generation is increasingly appreciated today. The sound is unique.
The sale is not due to any technical issues.
However, the car has always been driven, and I’ve enjoyed driving it myself recently—so it’s not a museum piece, which you wouldn’t expect given the mileage. The paint is generally still in very good condition and was professionally restored recently. Nevertheless, the 180,000 km are visible in some places.
I’m only parting with the car because I’m considering switching to a newer 911 generation—since I often find myself in traffic jams and an automatic transmission, for example, would be more practical. Accordingly, there’s no pressure to sell.
Viewings and test drives are available by prior appointment. I’m happy to provide additional information, documentation, and photos to serious buyers.
The price is the initial asking price.
Private sale with no liability for material defects.
