This 3.2 Carrera Targa from the final model year of 1989 was manufactured in January 1989 and subsequently delivered to the U.S. for the first time. The Targa remained in sun-drenched California throughout its time there; the CarFax report provides a complete record from 1993 to 2015, showing a steadily increasing mileage and no critical entries, such as accident damage.
In 2016, we finally brought the Targa back to Germany, and it was then registered to one of our customers in 2017. The mileage at that time—82,947 miles—was correctly converted to kilometers, and the speedometer was converted from miles to kilometers. The total mileage currently displayed therefore verifiably corresponds to the actual mileage in kilometers.
The car has been in our customer’s possession since 2017, and we have had the privilege of performing all cosmetic and technical work on the vehicle. This includes an extensive technical overhaul in 2017–2018 and a newly upholstered leather interior in 2019. In 2026, we finally replaced all wear parts in the front brake system of this vehicle, including the brake calipers.
MODEL HISTORY
The so-called K-series of the 1989 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 is considered particularly sought-after among enthusiasts, as it represents the final model year of the classic G-series before the introduction of the 964. It combines the proven technology of the air-cooled 3.2-liter boxer engine with numerous refinements from the final years of production and is considered the pinnacle of classic 911 development.
A key advantage of the Carrera 3.2 models from 1987 onward is the modern-feeling G50 five-speed transmission.
Compared to the earlier 915 transmission, it offers significantly more precise shifting, a hydraulically actuated clutch with lower pedal pressure, and greater durability. Together with the proven Bosch Motronic fuel injection system, the high reliability of the 3.2-liter boxer engine, and the overall sophistication of the technology, the G50 models are considered the most practical for everyday use and the most sought-after representatives of the classic G-model series.

COSMETIC CONDITION & PAINT THICKNESS
Visually, this 3.2 Carrera Targa is in very well-maintained condition. The interior, which was refurbished a few years ago, looks as good as new, and the exterior is in excellent condition for its age.
The bodywork is flawless. There are no visible signs of accidents, no repairs, and no rust. All factory-applied decals (color plate, hood decal, B-pillar production decal, VIN decals on components) are still in place.
The paint finish and gloss level of the vehicle can be described as consistently good. Many of the components still have their original paint. The following components have been lightly repainted: front and rear bumpers, tailgate (due to the removal of the rear spoiler), side panel, and driver’s side door. In this context, “lightly repainted” means that the paint film thickness ranges between 200 µ and 300 µ—the tailgate has higher paint film thicknesses (300 µ – 400 µ) due to the filling of holes. Based on a total of 52 measurement points, the average paint film thickness across the entire vehicle was 215 µ. Photographic documentation of the measurements is available and can be sent upon request.
TECHNICAL CONDITION
There are a total of three maintenance records from the time the vehicle was in the U.S. Since it has been in Germany (starting in 2017), the car has undergone extensive technical maintenance. Many areas were systematically addressed in depth—including, among others, the suspension, the rims, the clutch, wheel bearings, the alternator, the brakes, the ignition system, and much more.
There are various invoices dating from 2017 to the present. We’d be happy to send these to you for your review.
