Enthusiasm for this cultural treasure grows with the color. This rich Condag green—as Porsche calls it—promises great things. Green stands for growth, freshness, sustainability, and development. All of this is combined in a car that is both reliable and stylish. Driving it down the road with that elegant steering wheel and powerful boxer engine is pure poetry! The car is an astonishing 56 years old. Magnificent!
This beautiful Porsche 911 E was first registered on March 17, 1970, to a businessman in Innsbruck. For all 56 years since then, it has always been registered in Austria. What stories does a car like this have to tell? Much of what the drivers and passengers experienced and discussed will likely remain hidden forever within its bodywork. Nevertheless, some details are known. In addition to a repaint in the 2000s, great care was always taken to keep the car in good mechanical condition. Regular oil changes and spark plug replacements were mandatory. And most recently, the following work has been performed: clutch and flywheel replaced; front-axle control arms and ball joints replaced; reproduction seats with Pepita inserts for seating comfort (the original standard seats are in storage); starter motor; and brake hoses.
What makes this Porsche 911 unique is its original condition. Starting with the original side and rear windows, through the side moldings, the engine grille, the lights, the Fuchs rims, and the matching engine and transmission numbers (see the Porsche certificate of origin). The interior has also been preserved in its original condition for the most part. As a result, it’s not only a feast for the eyes but also a delight to experience firsthand.
