Introduced in 1964 as the successor to the renowned Porsche 356, the 911 featured a revolutionary air-cooled flat-six engine mounted behind the rear axle, establishing the formula that has defined the model for more than six decades. The early SWB (Short Wheelbase) cars, produced until 1968, are highly sought after for their purity, lightweight construction, and engaging driving characteristics. With a wheelbase of just 2,211 mm, they offer a uniquely authentic and rewarding driving experience.
This particular example was originally delivered new in the United States and has since undergone a comprehensive nut-and-bolt restoration carried out by Porsche Classic Partner Estoril, the only official Porsche Classic Partner in Portugal.
The restoration was performed in accordance with the strict standards established by Porsche AG, using official factory documentation, approved restoration methods, and Porsche Classic expertise throughout the entire process. Every aspect of the vehicle was carefully addressed, including bodywork, mechanical components, electrical systems, suspension, braking system, interior trim, and finishing details, always respecting the car’s original factory specifications.
Mechanically, the car retains its correct period configuration and operates with its original Solex carburettors, an essential feature that preserves the authentic character, performance, and sound of the earliest Porsche 911s.
Accompanying the vehicle is the highly desirable PCTC – Porsche Classic Technical Certificate, an official Porsche Classic document that compares the car’s current condition and specifications against its original factory production data, confirming its authenticity and historical correctness.
Also included is a comprehensive photographic restoration album, documenting every stage of the restoration process in detail. This extensive record provides invaluable transparency, authenticity, and provenance, offering future custodians a complete visual history of the work performed.
The result is a Porsche 911 that combines the rarity and historical significance of an early-production example with the confidence and quality of a restoration completed to official Porsche Classic standards.
