The vehicle in detail

One of just 99 Porsche 911s to be Reimagined by Singer through their DLS Turbo services, the Firefly Commission represents an entirely unique example that is offered directly from its commissioning owner. Built to RHD specifications for the U.K. market, this car’s sensational colour combination only enhances the racing-inspired coupe’s incredible visual panache and visceral performance.

Inspired by the victorious Porsche 934/5 endurance racers of the 1970s, the heart of each car restored through DLS Turbo services is the Type 964’s M64 3.6-litre flat six-cylinder engine, now expanded to 3.8L and boasting four valves per cylinder, water-cooled cylinder heads, twin turbochargers with electronic wastegates, a horizontally mounted cooling fan, and air-to-water intercooling. A further evolution of the engine designed for Singer’s DLS services for the Type 964 Porsche 911, this turbocharged interpretation raises output to an astounding 710 bhp (SAE Net) and 750Nm of torque with the ability to rev to over 9,000 rpm.

The car’s carbon fibre bodywork was painstakingly designed using computational fluid dynamics analysis, optimizing aerodynamic performance. It is with the bodywork where the personalization truly begins, and owners can choose between taking a track-focused direction, with larger rear wing and more aggressive front fascia, or a road-focused specification with a rear ducktail spoiler and revised front fascia. For ultimate freedom of choice, both setups could be specified, stored in a set of bespoke flight cases, enabling the owner to change the configuration of their car, as is the case with Firefly.

Utilizing bespoke, paint-to-sample colour choices of Solid Tangerine paintwork and Orange leather-to-sample trim, the Firefly Commission’s specification is just as striking as the twin-turbocharged performance. Accompanied by both the track and road focused bodywork configuration, the car’s lightweight, carbon fiber bodywork is thoroughly protected by full exterior paint protection film. All brightwork, both inside and out, is done in a black anodized matte finish, leaving nothing to distract from the car’s sensational colour scheme.

The Firefly Commission was delivered to the current owner in the U.K. and it has remained with him ever since, seeing occasional use out and about in London and the south of England having been driven 1,294 miles since completion by Singer in November 2025. Prior to the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed, where Singer was celebrated as the central feature of the event, Firefly was selected by both Rob Dickinson (founder & Creative Director of Singer) and the Duke of Richmond to be a central part of the Singer Vehicle Design display. Not only was the car kept on display throughout the weekend, but it was driven at speed up the famous hillclimb by Singer’s Chief Test Driver Marino Franchitti.

Much like a Lamborghini Countach or a Ferrari SP3 Daytona, the extraordinary shape of a Porsche 911 reimagined through DLS Turbo services lends itself well to wild colour schemes, and the specification of the Firefly Commission suits the car’s character perfectly. Presented in fabulous condition, as it has been well-looked after by its commissioning owner, Firefly would be a significant addition to any collection of Porsches or modern supercars, representing Singer at its very best.
