The gearbox was comprehensively rebuilt following a third-gear synchro failure and upgraded with shorter gear ratios together with a limited-slip differential. The result is a superbly engaging transmission with precise, mechanical shift quality perfectly suited to spirited driving.
The 2.4-litre flat-six engine was also fully rebuilt in Germany, including an overhaul of the Bosch mechanical fuel injection system and fuel pump. It starts instantly, idles cleanly, and pulls smoothly throughout the rev range. Combined with the rebuilt transmission, the drivetrain delivers an exceptionally rewarding driving experience. With its high-compression design producing 190 horsepower at 6,800 rpm, the engine is renowned for its eager nature and willingness to rev — characteristics this example demonstrates effortlessly. On the road, it feels every bit as fast and alive as the most celebrated early 911s.
The interior has been thoughtfully reimagined in a lightweight touring style, combining classic competition aesthetics with subtle practicality. Recaro-style sport seats provide excellent support, while details such as rear seats, auxiliary Cibie light switches, a 12-volt charging point, and a battery cut-off switch underline the car’s usability for long-distance events and rallies.
Mechanically, the car has received equally considered upgrades. The battery was relocated to the smuggler’s box for improved weight distribution, while a strut brace sharpens chassis rigidity and front-end response. The braking system was extensively upgraded with a full AP Racing setup featuring drilled discs and a separate brake fluid reservoir, providing strong and confidence-inspiring stopping power. Further enhancements include a 964-style wiper system for improved high-speed performance and a set of 16-inch Fuchs wheels homologated by Porsche.
Carefully maintained and regularly serviced throughout its life, this 911ST recreation presents today as a highly sorted and exceptionally well-developed driver’s car — one created with a clear vision and improved over many years of enthusiastic ownership.
The car is currently fitted with a standard engine lid for a more understated appearance, though it also comes with the iconic RS ducktail spoiler, allowing the next owner to easily give the car a more purposeful period competition look if desired.
The car is accompanied by its space-saver spare wheel, original Porsche tyre inflator, factory toolkit and history records.
For enthusiasts seeking the raw character of an early mechanically fuel-injected 911 combined with the usability and performance of thoughtfully engineered upgrades, this beautifully executed ST recreation represents a rare opportunity. It captures the spirit of the iconic competition-inspired 911s while offering a uniquely rewarding driving experience both on the road and during classic touring events.

THE 911 S
The 911S lineage—from the original 2.0-litre version of 1967 through to the 2.4-litre variant of 1973—represents the pinnacle of genuine sports car engineering of its era. At a time when many Italian and British rivals were becoming increasingly heavy and complex, Porsche remained true to its founding philosophy: producing lightweight, highly responsive machines equally at home on the Mulsanne Straight as in everyday traffic.
