The vehicle in detail

This car has been waiting in a dry dusty barn between machinery and tools in Belgium from about 2000. Originally delivered in Belgium by D’Ieteren in 1968 to a CEO of a fruit import company, it has been under maintenance at D’Ieteren for the first years of its life. In these years there has been a motor exchange (indicated on the carfax!) probably due to unsolvable problems of the original engine.

Since then there is no history known, but it’s plausible that the car stayed in Belgium. In the past, the car was repainted in oak green, and this was not done very well. There is rust on the inside of the bottom of the car, but exept for 2 small spots it has no perforation and needs no welding. The car is fairly complete exept for the interior : carpets are missing, some knobs and covers for the heating too.

The seats of the car are renewed, (I’m a car upholsterer myself), originally they were in black leather, but now in Pepita (black/white/red) which will be a perfect combination in the restored car, also after a repaint in the original Irish green.

Seen that the car has not been driven so many years, a test drive is not possible. I can show that the engine is not stuck without driving the car. It would be nefast for the engine to have it turning on old oil and gas.
