The Porsche 964 represents an important chapter in the history of the 911, combining the familiar character of the classic air-cooled design with a significant step forward in comfort, technology and everyday usability. The Carrera 4 was the first series-production all-wheel-drive 911, bringing additional stability and confidence while retaining the mechanical character for which the model is known.

This example is a 1991 model-year Carrera 4, delivered in Germany in October 1990 through a factory collection in Stuttgart. It remained in Germany for the first ten years of its life before arriving in the Netherlands in 2001, where it has remained ever since.

Finished from the factory in Oak Green Metallic over an extensively trimmed black leather interior, the car has a particularly distinctive and elegant specification. The deep green metallic paintwork changes character depending on the light and pairs exceptionally well with the restrained black cabin.

Its factory configuration is made more special by the absence of a sunroof, creating the desirable slicktop roofline. As a pre-airbag example, it also retains the cleaner dashboard and steering wheel design associated with earlier 964s.

Power comes from Porsche’s naturally aspirated 3.6-litre flat-six engine, producing 250 PS and 310 Nm of torque. It is paired with a five-speed manual gearbox and the Carrera 4 all-wheel-drive system. The combination provides strong performance together with the secure and planted character that distinguishes the Carrera 4 from its rear-wheel-drive counterpart.

The car is supported by a very good service history, including 16 stamps in its original service booklet and an extensive file containing invoices. It has no known accident history and the paintwork presents in very good condition, having recently benefited from a professional detailing treatment.
