When the 997 Turbo was introduced, it was Porsche itself that confidently dubbed the car “The Masterpiece.” It’s the last 911 to feature the legendary GP1 Hans Mezger engine, and there’s one version you’ll want—the holy grail—and that’s the 997 Turbo with a manual transmission. Indestructible, unbelievably fast, and far, far ahead of its time.
The 3.6 Turbo featured a first for its time: two turbos with variable vanes. And although the 911 Turbo is all-wheel drive, it has an oversteering character. Predictable, responsive, but downright dangerous due to its mind-boggling 480 pk and a whopping 620 Nm of torque. Unprecedentedly fast—especially when you consider the context of 20 years ago. It accelerates from a standstill to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds, and 8.9 seconds later, the speedometer needle passes 200 km/h; the thrill doesn’t end until it reaches an unbelievable 310 km/h.
The numbers are impressive enough, but the experience is sensational. Unprecedented grip, an active suspension, and razor-sharp front-end steering make the 911 Turbo a driver’s car through and through. Just when you think you can tame the Turbo, you discover that the car’s limits are simply far beyond your own. The 997 is phenomenal in many ways.
Another unique feature is the PCCB ceramic brake system. This braking system was taken directly from the Carrera GT. The seemingly endless braking power is, if anything, even more impressive than the acceleration, and the combination of engine technology, suspension, and brakes truly earns the 997 Turbo the label “masterpiece.”
In addition to all the technical ingenuity, the design is very important in a Porsche 911. The Turbo unmistakably has its own impressive design and truly stands out from other 911 variants thanks to the special bumper assembly with LED turn signals in the front grille and fog lights at the corners, the flared fenders with air intakes and the rear bumper with cooling vents, the two massive exhaust tips, and the large rear spoiler with active aerodynamics. And then there are those wheels. The Turbo I wheels feature gray inserts and polished rims, with the yellow brake calipers of the ceramic brake system visible behind them. This yellow color, in particular, pairs fantastically with what is perhaps the most beautiful color on a 911—GT Silber metallic.
The interior is entirely black, just as you’d want it. The adaptive Turbo sport seats are upholstered in luxurious Nappa leather. The headliner is also black and finished in Alcantara. Incidentally, the leather extends across the dashboard, the center console, and the door panels.
The list of options for this 911 is perfect. For example, the adaptive sport seats with electric adjustment, memory function, and heating were selected. They are upholstered in black Nappa leather and finished with dark stitching. The dashboard and interior are also finished in black leather. The headliner comes standard in anthracite Alcantara. As purists would prefer, the electric sliding/tilting sunroof was deliberately omitted. Additionally, the car features automatic climate control, cruise control, parking sensors, and bi-xenon headlights.
The 911 is in completely original condition except for two upgrades. The original PCM system has been replaced with the version that Porsche dealers currently offer as a retrofit. The modern touchscreen system offers the same functions as the original from that era and is housed in the same casing, but it also includes Bluetooth audio streaming, DAB+, and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. The other modification is the steering wheel. This was also supplied by an authorized dealer; it is the steering wheel from the facelift model and features steering wheel controls compatible with the multimedia system. If you prefer absolute originality, please note that both the original PCM system and the original steering wheel are included with the sale. Both the multimedia system and the steering wheel were supplied by the authorized Porsche dealer and cost over EUR 1,400 and 1,800, respectively.
What makes this Porsche 911 unique is that it was originally delivered in the Netherlands. The car has significant mileage, but as mentioned, the mechanics are indestructible—especially with proper maintenance. It’s clear that the condition is truly exceptional and that the 911 has always been treated and driven with love and care. In addition to the fully documented maintenance records from the authorized dealer, the maintenance history is meticulously documented in a folder. And by “meticulously,” we mean every single detail. Everything is neatly listed in an Excel spreadsheet and further supported by numerous invoices and appraisal reports. Rarely have we seen such a comprehensive record and such an exceptionally beautiful example.
