This particular car is finished in the rare color of Amethyst Metallic with the hardback Recaro sport bucket seats featuring centres upholstered in Rubystone, Aubergine, and Grey Violet leather, with black leather bolsters.

The lightweight design of the RS is most evident in the cabin as the interior features lightweight carpeting, no air conditioning and a radio delete, along with a rear seat delete, thinner glass, basic door panels with pull straps, manually operated windows..

Power comes from a type M64/03 3.6L engine which is a revised version of the flat-six found in the standard Carrera 2.260 HP is delivered to the rear wheels by way of a 5-speed G50/10 manual transmission which offers closer gear ratios, steel synchros, and a limited slip differential.Other unique performance features include standard rack and pinion steering, stiffer engine mounts, and a stiffer track-oriented suspension setup with lowered ride height and adjustable stabilizer bars.

The RS shares the body of the standard Carrera 2 but with subtle revisions ch as a sunroof delete, lightweight magnesium Cup 1 wheels, and clear lens inserts for the front fog light cutout, along with the all important an aluminum front bonnet.
