Immortalized as the ultimate bedroom wall poster for a generation of young car enthusiasts, the type-964 Porsche 911 Turbo marked the most significant update to the 911 lineup since its debut. Initially equipped with the previous generation’s 3.3-liter turbocharged flat-six, the type-964 Turbo received a substantial boost in 1993 with the introduction of a 3.6-liter engine. Producing 360 horsepower and nearly 400 pound-feet of torque, the new Turbo 3.6 could reach 60 mph from a standstill in four seconds and achieve a blistering 174 mph top speed.
The US-spec Turbo 3.6 offered here fulfills every criterion for the judicious Porsche enthusiast, with its numbers-matching engine and transmission, extensive service documentation, Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, Porsche Classic Technical Certificate, and special-order factory finishes.

Completed in May 1993, the car left the Zuffenhausen factory cloaked in crisp Grand Prix White over a Porsche Exclusive full supple leather interior finished with a handsome blend of Light Grey and Classic Grey elements, tastefully accentuated by contrast stitching, Classic Grey piping, and Light Grey carpeting. These “Z-code” Porsche Exclusive options are detailed in the accompanying Porsche Certificate of Authenticity and Classic Technical Certificate, which also note the client would receive “absolutely no discount” on the price of their custom interior package. Porsche crest-embossed headrests, an electric sliding sunroof, Alpine head unit, and the model’s iconic 18-inch polished Speedline-etched RS Cup wheels complete the stunning specification.
Following delivery stateside, the car is reported to have enjoyed a life of cherished use across a short chain of owners. In 2020, Porsche of San Diego inspected the car and confirmed the engine and transmission to be numbers-matching. Additionally, the car displays consistent paint meter readings across its body, indicative of factory-applied paint.
Rare, fast, and highly collectible, this well-preserved Turbo 3.6’s many noteworthy attributes will certainly appeal to serious collectors, especially those who value performance on the road as much as presence on display.
