The air-cooled Porsche 993 Carrera was arguably Porsche’s finest ever incarnation of the 911 series, with its wonderful 4-wheel drive surefootedness. You will not feel any difference behind the wheel of this Carrera 4 compared to the rear-wheel drive 911 Carrera. In all situations and speeds its agility and handling give you the confidence inspired by perfection. Its discontinuation marked the end of air-cooled Porsches, with the 993 being not just the last air-cooled 911, but also the last of the hand-built 911 series. The Carrera 4 can be recognized with its clear indicator covers at the front and red ones at the rear. The brake calipers are titanium colour, as are the logo on the engine cover and the gear lever inlay.

In 1995 Porsche switched production over to the Varioram-equipped M64/21(22) engine. Varioram adjusts the length of the air intake ducts in line with the engine revs and the speed of the car. The power output was increased to 285 HP. The car produces 340 Nm of toque at 5,250 rpm. You will frequently find yourself driving one or two gears higher than in other cars, thanks to the engine’s wide power band. 0 -62 mph is achieved in just 5.3 seconds.

Supplied new by Porsche Cars Great Britain in February 1996, our 993 Carrera 4 Cabriolet has enjoyed 18 services, all documented in the original owner’s books and Porsche Classic service book. It has recently had a new replacement hood fabric. This car simply deserves inspection.
