Not only the exhaust but also the intake system was completely addressed. In addition, the car had a lot of sportier design elements including the ‘fast mirrors’ and centerlock wheels. The 44mm wider ‘behind’ swung around with 30.5cm wide rubber to the ground. A GTS was ordered standard with alcantara, and a ‘sportauspuffanlage’. The latter could of course be activated by that familiar Porsche button which recognizably presents two exhaust pipes. The simple little button still gets an ear-to-ear grin on the face of young or old.

Now I have often heard; “nice that Sport-Chrono, but I don’t understand why people care so much about that little clock on the dashboard?” This is just the tip of the iceberg folks! Improved throttle response, reduced traction control interference, stiffer and lower suspension which makes for 3 seconds faster at the bar next to the Nurburgring. Now you again!

Why ours is collectible or enthusiast-worthy? 46,000 kilometers of boxer engine fun, German car which is fully Porsche-maintained, full first paint, manual transmission with sunroof and sport-chrono. We couldn’t have picked it better ourselves. As a garage queen or weekend cruiser, in both cases this car is ‘the one to have’.
