The 993 Turbo, launched in mid-1995 as 1996, continued to hold the torch for the 911’s most powerful variant while continuing to improve the race as a whole. Among the new features of the 993 Turbo was a four-wheel drive system with electronically controlled viscous coupling – something that Porsche has not offered in a turbocharged model since the 959 and a system that greatly improved the performance of the Turbo, under the cover of the engine – now covered with a sculpted spoiler tail with downward facing edges – resided the 3.6-liter six-cylinder powered by two KKK K16 turbos.
