They say good things come to those who wait—a sentiment Porsche has truly taken to heart. 2025 marks the final year of production for the 718 platform, and Porsche has certainly saved the best for last. While the 718 platform has delivered fantastic cars in both GTS and GT4 guises, the RS badge had to wait until 2023 to make its appearance.

And what a special result it turned out to be. The powertrain was lifted from its sibling, the GT3, but its new home in the 718 presented an interesting challenge: the intake. While the GT3 engine could theoretically have breathed through the side intakes normally used for the GT4, Porsche opted instead to place a snorkel behind the driver and passenger windows—an intake system that shares the cabin space with the occupants. A large carbon-fiber housing runs behind the occupants’ heads on both sides, flooding the interior with an intake sound unmatched in the automotive world today. Otherwise, the interior is familiar from the standard GT4, though here it is trimmed in black Alcantara. Grey accents stand out in the seats and details like the door-opening loops; it is a focused environment. Carbon-fiber trim runs along the door panels and dashboard, featuring a “Weissach” emblem on the passenger side—a motif also stitched into the headrests. Carbon-fiber bucket seats conceal a half-cage behind them, while matte carbon-fiber door sill guards proudly illuminate “GT4RS” in yellow when the door is opened.
