The vehicle in detail

Chassis No. WP0ZZZ91ZFS800031
918 No. 031

The Porsche 918 Spyder is undeniably one of the defining hypercars of its era. Succeeding the Carrera GT as Porsche’s halo model, it forged a new path through Weissach and testing across the globe as a pioneering performance hybrid; one that would shape both Porsche’s performance philosophy and the broader supercar landscape of the 2020s.

Unveiled as a concept at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show and officially debuting in production form at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, the 918 Spyder was one of three new hypercars alongside the Ferrari LaFerrari and the McLaren P1, that combined plug-in hybrid technology with top-of-the-line performance. The 918 was powered by a naturally aspirated 4.6-liter V8 derived from the dominant RS Spyder Le Mans prototype producing 608 PS and capable of a 9,000 rpm redline. For the first time, however, it would be accompanied by two electric motors—one providing power at each axle—that provided a combined output of 887 PS and 1,280 Nm of torque through Porsche’s proven seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission. Fittingly, Porsche created only 918 examples of its hypercar at the Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen plant, all of them hand-assembled.

This 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder, limitation number 031, was originally selected with two highly desirable options that set it apart from nearly every other 918 Spyder built by Porsche. Central to its specification is the highly desirable 41-kilogram weight-saving and aerodynamic Weissach Package. At a cost of €60.000 upon debut, the Weissach Package enhanced the already impressive performance and looks of the 918 to another level. Building on the Weissach Package’s uncompromising focus on weight reduction, Porsche engineered the 918 Spyder with extensive carbon components, titanium brake elements, and magnesium center-lock wheels, while deleting comfort features to save precisely 41 kilograms. Paired with functional carbon aerodynamics and lightweight finishes, these enhancements sharpen performance, reflected in its 6:57 Nürburgring Nordschleife lap time and a driving experience closely aligned with Porsche’s motorsport pedigree.

Equally significant is this Weissach Package 918 Spyder’s finish in the rare shade of Liquid Metal Chrome Blue, one of only two paint finishes more costly than those found in Porsche’s Paint to Sample program, applied in an intensive nine-layer process directly onto the carbon-fiber reinforced bodywork. This highly specialized €40.000 Sonderfarbe involves multiple precision stages and clear coats, producing remarkable depth, clarity, and a liquid-like reflective quality that accentuates every contour of the car. Complementing this, the €20.000 optional “Authentic” leather interior in Onyx Black with Silver Piping is crafted to preserve the hide’s natural grain and character, utilizing thick, sustainably treated leather that enhances both tactility and durability, which in Porsche’s words, “will develop a patina, which will make every 918 Spyder unique.”

With such an exciting specification focused on performance, exterior eye appeal, and its luxurious interior, for many this is likely the ultimate specification 918. In fact, it is the only 918 Spyder delivered in Europe so specified. Furthermore, the original owner saw fit to specify Lightweight Bucket Seats with Firmer Cushioning and a dose of practicality as well with a Front Axle Lift System that pairs well with the 918 Spyder’s ability to be used every day if so desired.

Today this impeccably ordered 918 Spyder features just 8,826 kilometers at the time of cataloging, a figure reflective of the light and considered use afforded to it since delivery at Porsche Zentrum Stuttgart—just across the street from the factory— just over a decade ago. As a single owner example, 918 limitation number 031, retains many of its original delivery items which include its original books and charging equipment along with the associated service book stamps from its devoted original owner. Additionally, the car has seen recent recommended servicing in May 2025 at Centro Porsche Madrid Norte with invoices on file and available for review.

As the landmark super and hypercars of the mid-2010s continue to be increasingly cherished for their significance, the 918 Spyder remains central to that conversation, standing as one of the defining performance cars of its era. A blue-chip example with single-owner provenance, this car is further distinguished by its exceptionally rare exterior and interior livery, while its considered specification enhances both usability and character, altogether representing a highly compelling addition to any well-curated collection.
