The Porsche 968 represents the pinnacle of Porsche’s transaxle era, which began with the 924 model in 1976. Produced between 1992 and 1995, only 12,780 examples of the 968 model range were built worldwide, of which the Coupé versions accounted for fewer than 8,000 units. This makes the model a rare and increasingly sought-after classic, with its popularity among collectors continuing to grow steadily.
With more than 80% of its components redesigned from the 944, the 968 was introduced as an all-new model rather than a simple update. Power comes from a 3.0-litre 16-valve four-cylinder engine producing 240 hp, featuring Porsche’s advanced VarioCam variable valve timing system and paired with a desirable 6-speed manual gearbox. Renowned for its near-perfect weight distribution, precise steering, and balanced handling, the 968 is widely regarded as one of the best-driving front-engined Porsches ever made.
This example is presented in exceptionally fine condition and comes with its original service book as well as extensive maintenance documentation. The car was originally delivered new through Porsche Center Helsinki in August 1992.
The Guards Red exterior paired with the Classic Grey leather interior creates an exceptionally elegant and timeless appearance. The overall package is perfectly complemented by a set of well-preserved Cup 2 wheels, enhancing the car’s iconic character. Thanks to the large removable sunroof panel, the car offers a targa-like driving experience, flooding the cabin with natural light while allowing the magnificent sound of the 3.0-liter engine to be fully enjoyed.
The car’s already impressive driving dynamics have been further enhanced with a retrofitted adjustable M030 Clubsport suspension, providing outstanding handling, balance, and driver confidence. To improve steering feel and ergonomics, the steering wheel has been brought closer to the driver with a removable spacer, creating a more engaging and connected driving position. The 8-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat ensures a comfortable driving position and effortless adjustments throughout the journey.
The six-speed manual transmission is a true highlight, delivering a wonderfully precise and satisfying shift experience that feels equally rewarding during relaxed cruising and more dynamic driving.
In 2025, the car underwent a comprehensive restoration and refurbishment. The vehicle was disassembled and repainted to a very high standard, most body seals were replaced with new genuine Porsche parts, the sunroof drive gears were renewed and adjusted, a new windshield and seal were installed, the battery was replaced, and new spark plugs were fitted.
In 2002, the car’s odometer was replaced due to a fault at Porsche Center Autocarrera (Helsinki), with the mileage at the time of replacement recorded as 148,409 km. This is documented in the service history, which explains why the current odometer reading shows 73,137 km.
The most recent service was completed on 2 April 2026 and included a major maintenance inspection. In addition to fresh engine oil and filters, the timing belt, balance shaft belt, and all auxiliary drive belts were replaced.
