The vehicle in detail

I have owned the Porsche 968 since 2014, and it has a total mileage of approximately 222,000 km.

The odometer was replaced by Porsche in 1997 at 99,827 km; the replacement is documented in the service booklet.

Engine / Current Condition

After a short, fast drive on the highway at the end of May 2026, metallic noises occurred without any loss of power. At the same time, there was no oil pressure at idle; oil pressure was present at higher engine speeds.

The compression readings subsequently measured for cylinders 1–4 are 13/13/11/12 bar.

The cause of the oil pressure issue has not yet been investigated. No diagnostic testing or engine disassembly was performed. The vehicle is therefore being offered with an unexplained oil pressure/engine problem and corresponding repair needs.

Maintenance and Repairs

2025 – 222,000 km:

• 4x Michelin Pilot Sport PS2, production date week 45/2024

2022 – 219,000 km:

• VarioCam chain tensioner

2019 – 216,000 km:

• Timing belt and water pump
• All hydraulic lifters
• Front and rear shock absorbers
• Original exhaust system

2018 – 215,000 km:

• Underbody dry-ice blasted and treated with rust inhibitor
• Front and rear brake hoses

2017 – 214,000 km:

• Slide rails, tensioners, and timing chain

2016 – 213,000 km:

• Air conditioning compressor

Routine maintenance, including oil changes, was performed regularly. Invoices and documentation are available for the work listed above.

Vehicle

Slate Gray Metallic, partial leather interior, original Porsche Cup wheels, and a Becker radio with CD player and “Pfeil” navigation system.

The vehicle is in good overall condition, consistent with its age and mileage; there are signs of wear and some repainting.

The underbody was dry-iced in 2018 and subsequently treated with a protective coating.

The vehicle sustained no accident damage during the time I owned it. According to Carfax, there is no record of accident damage from the period prior to that either.

Originally registered in the Netherlands; reclassified to Euro 2 / green environmental sticker. Technical inspection valid through 05/2026.
