Some Porsche 993s are desirable because of their condition, others because of their rarity.
This particular Porsche is significant because of its place in Porsche’s own history.
Carrera-Sport-Classics is proud to offer this extraordinary Porsche 993 Carrera 2 Coupé, first registered on 24 March 1997 and originally delivered by Porsche AG as a factory-internal Farbmusterfahrzeug.
Unlike a conventional production vehicle, this Porsche was not created for an individual customer. It formed part of Porsche’s internal development programme and was used to evaluate future colour and interior combinations before they entered series production.
Its historical significance is not based on assumption.
It is confirmed by the official Porsche Production Specification, which explicitly states:
Today, Jungle Green Metallic is recognised as one of Porsche’s most distinctive colours and later became available on the first-generation Porsche 996 and Boxster models. This Carrera 2 therefore represents an important link between the final air-cooled Porsche 911 and the beginning of Porsche’s water-cooled era.
Finished in PTS Jungle Green Metallic, the colour changes character dramatically depending on the surrounding light. In bright sunlight it reveals rich emerald and blue-green metallic tones, while under darker conditions it appears almost black. It is an elegant and understated finish that suits the timeless design of the Porsche 993 exceptionally well.
The interior is equally remarkable.
Finished in Natural Brown Porsche Exclusive Full Leather, leather extends far beyond the standard specification. The dashboard, steering wheel, centre console, handbrake lever, door panels and numerous additional interior components were individually trimmed through the Porsche Exclusive programme, creating a cabin that feels bespoke rather than series-produced.
The combination of Jungle Green Metallic and Natural Brown leather would later become available within the 996 generation, but this Porsche demonstrates where that story began.
Mechanically, this is exactly the specification many enthusiasts look for.
Power comes from Porsche’s legendary naturally aspirated 3.6-litre air-cooled flat-six producing 285 horsepower, coupled to the desirable six-speed manual gearbox driving the rear wheels.
This example was also specified with several of the most sought-after factory performance options.
The M033 Sports Suspension lowers the car and gives it a noticeably sharper, more connected driving character without compromising comfort.
Combined with the factory M220 Limited Slip Differential, traction and balance are outstanding, particularly on demanding roads. Together with the manual transmission, these options make this Carrera 2 one of the most rewarding air-cooled 911s to drive.
While its historical significance is undeniable, this remains above all a superb driver’s Porsche.
The provenance is equally impressive.
The car is accompanied by its original German Fahrzeugbrief issued to Porsche AG, directly linking the vehicle to its original factory ownership.
Following its time at Porsche, the car remained exclusively in enthusiast ownership.
It subsequently resided in Germany, later in Austria and most recently formed part of a private collection in the Paris region, where the last owner carefully preserved it from 2021 until its acquisition by Carrera-Sport-Classics.
Today the car is offered for sale in Belgium with its French registration documents.

Beyond the stamped service history, the car is accompanied by numerous original maintenance and repair invoices accumulated over nearly three decades, providing an unusually transparent ownership and maintenance history.
Prior to being offered for sale, the Porsche underwent a comprehensive inspection by Porsche Classic.
In June 2026 it received a full service together with new shock absorbers. The suspension geometry was professionally aligned to factory specification and the vehicle also underwent a comprehensive Porsche Classic Pre-Purchase Inspection (PPI).

In addition, Porsche Classic measured the paint thickness of every body panel.
The vehicle is confirmed to be completely accident-free.
As expected from a carefully maintained collector’s Porsche approaching thirty years of age, several body panels have been professionally refinished during its lifetime for cosmetic reasons. The car still retains part of its original factory paint and presents beautifully throughout.

Several additional factory production and Porsche Exclusive codes further document the unique build process of this Farbmuster vehicle.
During model year 1997, only 644 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 Coupés were produced for the “Rest of World” market. This car represents an even more exclusive chapter within that production, as it was never intended to be a regular production vehicle but instead formed part of Porsche AG’s internal development programme.
Cars such as this rarely appear on the open market. Not because they were ordered through the Porsche Exclusive department, but because they were never originally intended for customer delivery at all.
For collectors, provenance has become just as important as mileage or condition.
