When I bought the car, in addition to a service, I had everything else that needed to be done taken care of:
– Overhauled the dual-ignition distributor
– Heat shielding on the exhaust system completely replaced
– Steering gear overhauled
– Soft top control unit overhauled
– Central locking control unit overhauled
I haven’t driven this car all that much because I also own the 4S and other cars, and besides, I moved to Lake Garda in Italy five years ago. Since my wife absolutely wanted a historic property in need of renovation, I drove very little and instead spent four years hauling rubble and breathing in dust.
The car is painted in the very rare color Iris Blue, with a matching blue convertible top and matching midnight blue FULL leather interior—meaning even the door panels and dashboard are upholstered in leather. It’s very nice and looks significantly higher-quality than the standard plastic dashboard. The rear left side panel has been repainted due to scratches, as has the front left fender. The detailer must have dripped some kind of harsh chemical on them, leaving stains in the paint… Of course, there are a few stone chips on the car, and a small scratch here and there. The car will turn 30 next year—at which point it will qualify for an “H” license plate. The car is equipped with ORIGINAL 18-inch Porsche wheels—and I have some nice 18-inch RH Speedline replicas—it’s all a matter of price.
I’ve equipped the original Becker Indianapolis radio with a Bluetooth dongle, so you can pair your smartphone and listen to music via Spotify, for example.
The car has a Bilstein suspension installed—this was noted during the last TÜV inspection. I’ll need to have it officially registered during the next TÜV inspection. The TÜV expired in April 2026. If I sell it, I can drive the car on a trailer to Germany and have a new HU performed. That shouldn’t be a problem, since the car has only traveled 400 km since the last HU (Munich to Lake Garda). I had originally planned to wait until next year to get the HU done, because the car will be 30 years old by then, and I’ll have the H-certification done at the same time. If I do that next year, I’ll be offering it for 72,500. So the current price should be considered a “Winter Special.” I’m not driving the car right now; it’s covered and plugged into the charger in the garage.
Anyone seriously interested is welcome to come view the car at my place on Lake Garda—near Peschiera. Lake Garda is beautiful even in winter, and you can even sell it to your wife as a romantic weekend in Verona.
