The vehicle in detail

Carrera-Sport-Classics is delighted to offer this beautifully documented Porsche 993 Targa from the final and most highly regarded air-cooled 911 generation.

First registered on 26 March 1997, this example was delivered new through Porsche Zentrum Zürich and remains finished in its elegant original colour combination of Arctic Silver Metallic with a luxurious factory Full Leather interior.
Unlike the standard interior, the leather extends across the dashboard, door panels, centre console and numerous additional trim pieces, creating a significantly more exclusive atmosphere that perfectly complements the timeless character of the 993.

Among Porsche enthusiasts, the 993 occupies a unique position in the history of the 911. It represents the final evolution of the air-cooled flat-six, combining classic engineering with modern refinement and outstanding reliability. More than twenty-five years after production ended, it continues to be regarded as one of the most desirable generations ever built.

The 993 Targa introduced an entirely new interpretation of the Targa concept. Instead of the traditional removable roof panel, Porsche developed an electrically operated panoramic glass roof that slides elegantly beneath the rear window. The result is an open-air driving experience while preserving the refinement, structural rigidity and elegant profile of the Coupé.

Approximately 4,500 examples of the 993 Targa were produced worldwide, making it one of the rarer variants of the 993 generation. Manual gearbox examples such as this have become increasingly sought after as collectors recognise their unique combination of rarity, usability and pure analogue driving pleasure.

Powered by the legendary naturally aspirated 3.6-litre air-cooled flat-six producing 285 horsepower and coupled to the desirable six-speed manual transmission, this Porsche delivers one of the purest driving experiences Porsche has ever created.

Originally supplied in Switzerland, the car remained there until 2008 before moving to Germany. In 2011 it was imported into Belgium, where every kilometre has since been documented through the official Belgian Car-Pass system.

Today the odometer reads just 108,200 kilometres.
One of the greatest strengths of this Porsche is undoubtedly its exceptional provenance.

The original maintenance booklet contains no fewer than sixteen documented service stamps, including ten from official Porsche Centres and six from recognised Porsche specialists, demonstrating continuous and meticulous maintenance throughout its entire life.

Maintenance history:
02/1998 – 11,744 km
03/1999 – 19,357 km
03/2000 – 28,069 km
03/2001 – 37,984 km
05/2002 – 45,221 km
06/2003 – 53,846 km
04/2004 – 55,373 km
11/2005 – 60,734 km
03/2008 – 66,961 km
09/2010 – 69,638 km
04/2012 – 78,485 km
03/2016 – 92,830 km
06/2018 – 103,211 km
04/2020 – 105,527 km
07/2024 – 107,619 km
07/2026 – 108,200 km

Beyond the fully documented service history, the vehicle is accompanied by an extensive file containing more than €30,000 worth of maintenance and repair invoices accumulated over recent years.

In 2024 alone, more than €12,000 was invested to ensure the car met the highest mechanical standards. Prior to being offered for sale, it was inspected once again by Porsche Classic, including a comprehensive Pre-Purchase Inspection (PPI), confirming its excellent overall condition.
The car is completely accident-free and presents beautifully throughout. As can be expected from a carefully cherished Porsche approaching thirty years of age, several panels have been professionally refinished during its lifetime for cosmetic reasons. The vehicle still retains part of its original factory paint and has never sustained accident damage.

The original Certificate of Conformity (COC), complete service documentation, Belgian Car-Pass, original maintenance booklet and extensive invoice file accompany the vehicle.

Cars like this rarely become available. While many Porsche 993s have incomplete histories, deferred maintenance or uncertain provenance, this example distinguishes itself through exceptional documentation, continuous specialist maintenance and significant recent investment.
This is precisely the type of Porsche we seek for
Carrera-Sport-Classics: an honest, transparent and exceptionally well-maintained air-cooled 911 that is ready to be enjoyed immediately while representing an increasingly desirable collector’s car for years to come.
