In 2007, this one-of-a-kind vehicle in the special GT Silver Metallic paint color was configured by a Berlin-based car enthusiast with a keen eye for detail, featuring a multitude of custom and exclusive equipment details.
Apparently, there were no limits to either the imagination or the budget. As a result, this one-of-a-kind vehicle was created to stand out from the crowd. The vehicle’s configuration was put together in collaboration with Porsche’s Special Requests Department, with the goal of implementing as many options as possible that were available at the time and considered “state of the art.”
The list of technically feasible features includes, among other things, the factory X51 performance upgrade to 381 PS using components from the GT-3 lineup, the matching sport suspension including shorter shift travel and the corresponding sport exhaust system, 19-inch Turbo wheels with ceramic brakes, as well as the Sport Chrono Package Plus, a BOSE sound system, and the premium leather and aluminum interior package. The list goes on, as a sunroof, sport seats, Park Distance Control, and cruise control were also installed.
Among the most striking exterior features of this future design icon is undoubtedly the GT Silver Metallic exterior color, combined with the 19-inch Turbo wheels and the yellow calipers of the ceramic brakes.
Opening the doors reveals the interior and leaves you speechless: The entire interior, down to the finest detail, consists almost exclusively of just two materials.
Leather and aluminum as far as the eye can see. Even the seatbelt buckles, interior lights, storage trays, PCCM trim, speakers, defroster vents, sill covers, and instrument panel covers—simply everything possible is lined with leather. Just like the A, B, and C-pillars and the headliner, even the fuse box has been treated to this luxurious material.
The light brown full-leather interior with sport seats features an extended leather trim package that includes, among other things, the door panels and the dashboard. The headrests are adorned with the embossed Porsche crest. In addition to the leather details, aluminum has been used consistently throughout the interior, even in unusual places. Alongside the comprehensive aluminum package, the seatbacks, the gearshift lever, and the center console have also been clad in this special material. These extravagant and costly design elements lend this car an exclusive touch with a sporty character.
The car is currently in its third owner’s possession and has continued to be cared for with Swabian thoroughness, undergoing meticulous maintenance every two years. As a result, the car is not only in exceptional condition with a complete history, but also boasts a low mileage of 32,700 km and retains the original paint finish, making it an absolute collector’s item. All previous owners, as well as the mileage and service history, are fully documented with original receipts.
Conclusion: A Porsche 997 Carrera 4S Targa with a virtually endless list of optional equipment. The total price for this special 997 was reported to be over €151,000. By comparison, a GT-3 was available starting at €109,000. The collector who doesn’t settle for off-the-shelf models but seeks something special and unique can call this example a piece of Porsche history their own.
