Widely considered the ultimate analog supercar, the Porsche Carrera GT is among the all-time greats and occupies a special place in the German marque’s history, and sits alongside halo cars including the 959 and 918 Spyder. First shown as a concept at the 2000 Paris Motor Show, the Carrera GT draws its mechanical foundation from a V10 developed for a Porsche Le Mans prototype program that never reached competition. Two-time World Rally Champion and Porsche works driver Walter Röhrl was directly involved in the Carrera GT’s development and chassis tuning.

The vehicle in detail

Styled under the direction of Harm Lagaay at Porsche’s development center in Weissach, the Carrera GT was hand-assembled in Leipzig, Germany, between 2003 and 2006; production totaled approximately 1,270 examples, with 644 units delivered to the United States. This particular example is #558 off the line.

At its heart lies a naturally aspirated 5.7-liter V10 that produces 605 horsepower and 435 pound-feet of torque. Power goes exclusively to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transaxle, twin-plate Porsche Ceramic Composite Clutch, and limited-slip differential. Porsche quoted a 0-to-60-mph time of 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 205 mph, figures that are still impressive by modern standards.

Beyond the headline figures, that V10 with its 8,400 rpm redline is central to the Carrera GT experience as it delivers one of the most evocative and celebrated soundtracks of any production car. Its carbon-fiber monocoque and subframe, pushrod-operated inboard suspension, and ventilated carbon-ceramic braking system further reflect the car’s motorsport influence. Forged magnesium center-lock wheels measure 19 inches at the front and 20 inches at the rear, with yellow-painted brake calipers providing contrast against the GT Silver Metallic exterior seen here. The Carrera GT also features a pair of removable roof panels, allowing the open-air experience to complement the V10 soundtrack and three-pedal driving experience.

Inside, Dark Grey leather covers the carbon-fiber bucket seats, complemented by exposed carbon-fiber door panels and sills and silver-finished trim across the dashboard, center console, and doors. Porsche’s classic five-pod analog gauge cluster, with the central tachometer take center stage on the driver seat. The laminated beechwood gear knob is one of the Carrera GT’s defining details, carrying Porsche motorsport pedigree and tracing its inspiration to the wooden gear lever used in the legendary 917 Le Mans racecar.

The accompanying CARFAX shows four previous owners and dealer service history stretching back to the car’s earliest years. CARFAX records Porsche dealer attention as early as 2005, including brake, electrical, steering, and suspension checks, followed by battery and charging-system service in 2010. In 2014, with approximately 1,372 miles recorded, a failed battery was replaced, a multi-point inspection was performed, and the car received additional Porsche dealer attention.

A more comprehensive service totaling $72,638.70 followed in 2021. The work included a four-year/40,000-mile maintenance service, engine oil and filter service, cabin and engine air filters, spark plugs, belts, battery, and other maintenance items. The engine was removed as part of the service to perform a valve adjustment, while clutch wear was checked, the underbody inspected, and a road test and fault check completed.

The same service period also includes replacement of the fuel tank following documented rodent damage, along with four Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires in 265/35ZR19 front and 335/30ZR20 rear sizes. New tire-pressure monitoring sensors were also installed.

More recent records further strengthen the maintenance history. In September 2024, The Collection performed recommended maintenance and replaced the horn, ignition coils, and spark plugs. All four tires were replaced in March 2025, and Porsche San Francisco subsequently serviced the car in May 2025, replacing the oxygen sensor and changing the transmission fluid and filter, before another visit in September 2025 that included replacement of the fuel-filler cap and seatbelt assembly. Porsche Cars North America also issued voluntary service action WRH8 in 2024 concerning accompanying measures for replacement of the front and rear axle control arms.

With naturally aspirated engines, manual transmissions, and three-pedal supercars becoming increasingly uncommon today, the Carrera GT’s combination of performance, mechanical feedback, and driver engagement has become increasingly sought after. Featuring full-body paint protection film and accompanied by matching Dark Grey Porsche luggage set, car cover, original window sticker, factory documentation, owner’s literature, and two keys, Chassis #0558 seen here presents collectors with a compelling opportunity to acquire a low-mileage, comprehensively documented example of one of Porsche’s defining halo cars.

Inspectors Notes: This is the pinnacle of a drivers car- Naturally aspirated V10, Six-speed manual shifter mounted right next to the steering wheel, and a top that comes off. Finding a Porsche Carrera GT with low mileage, current service, recalls done, a full luggage set, no modifications, and a black interior is about the same as finding a needle in a haystack.
