1992 Porsche 964 RS Lightweight

One of only seventy two examples of the RS Lightweight built and surely one of the finest with just 5,000 miles recorded from new. Finished in Grand Prix White, this example was built during November 1991 and delivered to the official Porsche dealer for Hong Kong, Jebsen & Co Ltd on the 12th December 1991.

In January 1995 the Porsche was imported to the Isle of Man and remained there until its purchase by the Porsche main dealer, Merlin, in Cardiff, on the 11th of December 1996. At this point it had covered only 852 km from new. Prior to sale Merlin completed a comprehensive inspection and service on the 20th of April 1997 as noted in the service book, at this time the original kilometre speedometer was replaced with one reading in miles by Merlin, again as noted in the record of speedometer charge section of the service book.

Merlin sold the car to a Porsche enthusiast in Midhurst, Sussex who enjoyed the car for a short period and 700 miles before selling it back to Merlin in December 1997. Following a service on the 17th December at 777 miles, as noted in the service book, Merlin sold the RS on the 19th December 1997 to a Dr Cameron of Worthing with a Porsche Warranty issued on the 20th December 1997, as documented in the history file.

Dr Cameron obviously liked his 964 RS as he kept it until 2011 using it very carefully and sparingly, the mileage rising to only 4,290 miles during his fourteen year tenure. He had the car serviced annually by his local Porsche main dealer, Rivervale, which became Porsche Centre Mid Sussex as shown in the stamped service book and detailed in each service invoice in the history file. This maintenance continued to 2008 at which point the car was placed in storage remaining unused until its sale in May 2011.

On the 4th May 2011 the RS joined a highly significant UK car collection where it has remained since. During this time it has been very carefully stored in ideal conditions and has received minimal use, the mileage rising from 4,290 miles in 2011 to just 4,506 miles today.

The RS remains as one would expect in virtually unmarked original order throughout showing none of the surface and detail wear one normally encounters even in a carefully used example. It comes with its original tools, keys, book pack including the rare RS supplement and the above-mentioned history file of ownership history, correspondence, MOT certificates, maintenance invoicing and stamped service book.
