The 911 Carrera 4S, introduced during the 993-generation (1994-1998), marked the end of Porsche’s air-cooled era. This model combined the wider bodywork of the Turbo with a naturally aspirated, 282-horsepower engine and all-wheel-drive, delivering both style and an intriguing dose of daily practicality. Additionally, the C4S featured wider “Turbo-look” 18-inch cast alloy wheels with wider tires and larger Turbo brakes with distinctive red Turbo calipers in addition to Turbo suspension components. Enthusiasts praised the timeless appeal of its sleek design, enhanced by a lower stance and wider body with greater performance than the standard Carrera. The all-wheel-drive system improved traction and handling, particularly on slippery surfaces, making it a technologically advanced feature for its time. As one of the last Porsche models powered by the iconic air-cooled flat-six, the Carrera 4S hit a sweet spot for many Porsche fans.

Finished in Stuttgart in August 1996, this very early 1997 model-year example was selected in classic Grand Prix White (first seen on the 1973 911 Carrera RS 2.7) over a Cashmere and Black Partial Leather interior. This low-mileage example was additionally optioned with HiFi Sound System, AM/FM Cassette Radio, 6-Disc Remote CD player, Power Seat Package, and a luxurious Dark Rootwood Shift Knob via option code XC9. Furthermore, the Porsche-issued Certificate of Authenticity confirms the car was originally ordered with the rarely seen selection of Exterior Color Rims and Center Caps. The clean CARFAX Vehicle History Report reveals long-term Southern California original ownership and regular servicing at McKenna Porsche and light, selective use with just under 12,000 miles by late 2021.

Most recently, in October 2025, the C4S received a service at Gaudin Porsche of Las Vegas that included an oil change, replacement of the idle control valve, repair of the third brake light assembly, as well as an inspection and application for Porsche Classic Technical Certificate (CTC). With under 13,000 original miles at the time of inspection, the C4S passed with flying colors with Gaudin and the Porsche factory confirming its “excellent condition” inside and out and that it retains its original engine and transmission. Furthermore, recent paint meter readings as evidenced in the history file further confirm its high degree of originality.

Having spent the majority of its life in a dry California climate with a single, long-term original owner until 2021, this collectible, low mileage 1997 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S is ready to provide the same thrilling feel and soundtrack as it did when new, offering its next caretaker a rare chance to enjoy one of the finest, low-mileage examples of the 993-generation 911, combining timeless design with pure, analog performance.
