Offered for just two years, in 1987 and 1988, Felsengrün (Granite Green) Metallic was already an uncommon choice when the original owner of this 1989 911 Turbo Cabriolet revived the color through Porsche’s Paint to Sample program. Ordered through Paul Miller Porsche in Parsippany, New Jersey, USA, the car was additionally specified with a specially matched Graugrün convertible top over Cashmere Beige leather, plus a limited-slip differential, heated front leather Recaro sport seats, and a Blaupunkt Reno SQR 46 radio.

Unbeknownst to buyers at the time, the 1989 model year would be the final year of the original G-Modell 911 Turbo and the only Type 930 to feature a five-speed G50 transmission, a highly collectible combination. Finished in Stuttgart in January 1989, the Turbo’s service book records it was delivered to its first owner that April. Its clean CARFAX Vehicle History Report reveals a move to California by 1997, where it remained until returning to Europe in 2010 with approximately 52,000 mi or 83,700 km.

Following its arrival in Europe, its exterior lighting, rear bumperettes, and speedometer were exchanged for correct European-market units, and it is fitted with an always-in-style Momo Prototipo steering wheel. Between 2018 and 2023, the Turbo Cabriolet was serviced at Garage Auto-Rallye in Geneva, and most recently, Marc De Sebental’s Meca Components in July 2024 and 2025. The latest two-page invoice from De Sebental records over CHF 6’000 in work that included a brake service with new discs and pads, new wheel bearings, new oil hoses, and fresh transmission fluid and Motul engine oil.

Today, this rare Paint to Sample 1989 Turbo Cabriolet brings together a distinctive color combination, the final-year status of the original 911 Turbo, and the desirable five-speed G50 manual transmission. With its open-air configuration, matching-numbers status, and documented Swiss service history, it represents a particularly appealing example of one of the defining performance cars of 1980s automotive culture.
