Porsche 918 Spyder

Porsche 918 Spyder

Coupé, 2015

Highlights

  • 204 MILES
  • ACID GREEN DELETE (INTERIOR)
  • 10 YEAR SERVICE COMPLETE

The Porsche 918 Spyder arrived in 2013 as the third in a lineage of Stuttgart halo cars that began with the all-wheel-drive 959 in the mid-1980s and continued through the naturally aspirated V10-powered Carrera GT of the early 2000s. Where those cars pushed the limits of mechanical engineering available in their respective eras, the 918 redefined what a flagship performance car could be, introducing plug-in hybrid technology not as a concession to efficiency but as a means of delivering unprecedented performance. In doing so, it completed the hybrid hypercar lineup alongside the McLaren P1 and Ferrari LaFerrari, a trio now universally known in collector car circles as the ‘Holy Trinity.’

The vehicle in detail

Its naturally aspirated 4.6-liter V8, derived from the German marque’s RS Spyder LMP2 race car, works with two electric motors to produce a combined 887 horsepower and 944 pound-feet of torque. A 6.8-kWh battery powers the sophisticated all-wheel-drive system and enables a 0-to-60 mph sprint in under 2.5 seconds, along with a top speed of 214 mph. The optional Weissach Package reduces weight by approximately 90 pounds through center-lock magnesium wheels, titanium hardware, ceramic wheel bearings, and lightweight door pull straps, sharpening both performance and handling.

Complementing these changes is Porsche Active Aerodynamics (PAA), which continuously adjusts the rear wing, rear spoiler, underbody flaps, and cooling air inlets across multiple driving modes to balance drag, cooling, and downforce. In Race mode, the system deploys its most aggressive aerodynamic configuration, generating additional rear downforce while creating a ground effect beneath the front axle. A Weissach-equipped 918 offers up to 2,205 pounds of downforce at 174 mph and became the first production car to officially lap the Nürburgring Nordschleife in under seven minutes, recording a landmark time of 6 minutes and 57 seconds.

This particular example is finished in GT Silver Metallic, arguably the model’s most timeless exterior color, complemented by Garnet Red leather upholstery with light grey accents, Porsche crest embossing on the headrests, and 918 Spyder embroidery throughout the cabin. Carbon fiber trim and exposed carbon fiber bucket seats reinforce its motorsport origins, while the contrasting acid green accents on the exterior and brake calipers subtly identify the car’s advanced e-hybrid tech.

Beyond the Weissach Package, this example was exceptionally specified from the factory with desirable options such as the front-axle lift system, a high-end 11-speaker 500-watt Burmester High-End Surround Sound System, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a multifunction leather sport steering wheel. Full-body paint protection film has helped preserve the exquisite GT Silver finish, whereas the accompanying removable carbon fiber roof panels allow the 918 to be enjoyed as both a coupe and an open-top roadster.

Originally delivered through Porsche Bellevue in Washington, the car has averaged fewer than 20 miles per year throughout its eleven-year history. More importantly, it has remained consistently maintained within Porsche’s authorized dealer network, with documented servicing performed by Porsche Bellevue, Porsche Marin, Porsche Fremont, Porsche Woodland Hills, Porsche Naples, and Porsche Palm Springs. Service records include scheduled maintenance, ignition coils, spark plugs, transmission fluid, tires, brakes, battery service, and comprehensive inspections, reflecting meticulous stewardship despite its remarkably low mileage. CARFAX shows a clean title history throughout, further reinforcing the exceptional preservation of this car.

More than a decade after production ended in Zuffenhausen, the 918 Spyder remains one of the defining hypercars of the modern era. It combines the immediacy and soundtrack of a naturally aspirated racing-derived V8 with electrification that enhances the driving experience. With just 204 miles, the coveted Weissach Package, one of only 162 U.S.-market examples so equipped, and an extensively documented history, #067 represents an exceptionally preserved opportunity to acquire one of the landmark performance hypercars of the 21st century.
