Introduced in 2010, the 911 GT3 RS was the definitive evolution of the 997-generation GT3 with significant improvements over its 997.1 predecessor. Power increased from 415 to 450 horsepower through a new 3.8-liter Metzger flat-six engine featuring improved airflow and reduced intake resistance. The car shed 55 pounds despite its wider body, achieved through extensive use of lightweight materials including a titanium exhaust system, ultra-light single-mass flywheel, polycarbonate rear window, and optional lithium-ion battery. The chassis and aerodynamics were also sharpened, featuring wider front and rear tracks, RS-specific Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), standard dynamic engine mounts, and a larger carbon rear wing and a deeper front lip for serious downforce gains.

Despite being over 15 years old, the 997.2 platform remains the ultimate iteration of the GT3 formula for many, and significantly, it represents the final generation of the GT3 RS, along with the RS 4.0, to be offered with a traditional six-speed manual transmission. This particular GT3 RS, chassis number 783217, is an exquisite example of one of the ultimate enthusiasts’ Porsches. Completed at Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen on 1 June 2011, the RS was finished in era-defining Carrara White over a Black Full Leather interior.

Beautifully specified, the interior of this RS 3.8 was ordered with Sport Chrono Package Plus, Sound Package Plus, Cupholders, Bluetooth, PCM with Extended Navigation, and Floor Mats in Interior Color. Its Black Full Leather seats featured Porsche crests on the headrests, and the steering wheel is covered in Black leather rather than Alcantara suede. Technically, this RS was optioned with lightweight Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB), Front Axle Lifting System, Lightweight Battery, and Clear Tail Lights. Perhaps most importantly the car is now fitted with carbon fiber split-folding sport bucket seats—equal parts art pieces and necessary for the lateral G-forces the RS 3.8 is capable of generating.

The VIN Analytics build sheet reveals an in-service date of 23 October 2010, corroborated by its clean CARFAX Vehicle History Report. First sold by Beverly Hills Porsche, the RS 3.8 remained in Southern California through its first two owners and 13,000 miles with regular servicing at Porsche Newport Beach and Beverly Hills Porsche until 2017. That year the RS moved to Texas under new ownership, visiting Porsche Dallas and then later Porsche Norwell for a scheduled 10,000-mile service. In 2023, the car returned to California with 16,552 miles and again saw a slate of Porsche dealer servicing, this time at Porsche San Francisco.

Today this well serviced and highly collectible analog RS 3.8 is offered with just 17,073 miles and a clean CARFAX. One of the last truly analog 911 GT3 RS models—offered exclusively with a six-speed manual—this exquisitely optioned 997.2 GT3 RS is among the all-time great iterations of a landmark sports car, and an opportunity not to be missed.
