Some Porsche 911s are special because of their colour. Others because of their specification, provenance or condition. This 964 Carrera 2 Cabriolet combines all of these qualities. First registered in February 1993 to Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, it was officially designated by Porsche as a “Farbmusterfahrzeug / internes Sonderfahrzeug”.
This special factory status remains recorded in Porsche’s own system and is additionally confirmed by the official Porsche certificate accompanying the car.
For its role as a colour-sample vehicle, Porsche specified the Cabriolet in L999 Aventurine Green Metallic – a colour more commonly associated with the later 993 generation – combined with an individual Sonderwunsch full leather interior, code 99. Porsche officially describes the interior as Venetian Blue. In reality, the leather has a distinctive green to green-blue appearance, creating an exceptionally elegant almost tone-on-tone combination with the Aventurine Green exterior. Porsche AG retained the car until July 1994.
It then passed to its first private owner, who sold it only nine months later to his brother-in-law. That owner would keep the Porsche from April 1995 until 2026 – an extraordinary 31 years.
Ownership history:

Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG
07/1994 – 04/1995

04/1995 – 2026
Second private owner – 31 years

In August 2026, the car underwent another comprehensive inspection and service at Porsche Classic Center Gelderland.
The most recent invoice alone amounts to €8,470 including VAT.
The complete Porsche Classic inspection report is present and available for review.
Mechanically, the car feels exceptionally well preserved.
Its original air-cooled 3.6-litre flat-six runs beautifully, the five-speed manual gearbox shifts precisely and the entire car feels remarkably tight and composed.
The specification is particularly attractive for a Carrera 2 Cabriolet.

The original Porsche Alpine CD-10 radio remains with the car.
Despite its 156,902 km, the condition is remarkable.
The bespoke leather interior, sports seats, dashboard, carpets and trim show exceptionally little wear for the mileage.
The fully electric black convertible roof is in excellent condition, as are the original 17-inch Cup wheels.
The rear light units remain unusually clear, the rubber seals are very well preserved and even the original yellow fog lights remain fitted.
All original factory stickers are still present.
The car is completely accident-free, with no evidence of structural repair and no body filler.
Several panels received cosmetic repainting earlier in its life. According to the long-term owner, no paintwork was carried out during his 31 years of ownership.
Considering the unusual factory history of this Porsche, some of this cosmetic paintwork may date from its early life, although without documentary proof we deliberately make no assumptions.
Detailed paint-depth measurements are available.
Engine and gearbox are matching numbers, officially confirmed by Porsche.

A good Porsche 964 Carrera 2 Cabriolet is already becoming increasingly difficult to find.
